Dr. John Werber is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the skin, hair and nails.
Dr. Werber did his pre-medical undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, where he was an academic honors student.
Dr. Werber received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He was awarded the Goldman Memorial Prize for being recognized as the outstanding senior medical student in Dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
After graduating from medical school, he completed a medical internship and a full 3-year residency in Internal Medicine. He was then invited to be a Clinical Scholar in the Division of Investigative Dermatology at the Rockefeller University in New York, where he spent more than a year doing clinical research on wound healing at the Rockefeller University hospital. After that, he completed his second full residency in the specialty of Dermatology. Dr. Werber did his 3-year residency in Dermatology at the Cornell University Medical Center in New York. He did his training at the New York Hospital, and at the Sloan-Kettering cancer center in Manhattan.
Dr. Werber was the Dermatologist-in-Chief of the St. Vincent’s Midtown Hospital and Health Center in Manhattan for over 13 years. He has received 6 different awards from the American Academy of Dermatology and from the American Medical Association for his extensive continuing medical educational activities within his specialty over the past 8 years, as well as for his volunteer work. Since 2006 he has been a volunteer dermatologist and educator for the Skin Cancer Foundation. For the past 3 years he has volunteered his professional dermatologic services on behalf of Major League Baseball.
Dr. Werber is a member of 12 different professional medical societies and organizations. He has been an invited speaker and lecturer at both National and International Dermatology conferences and symposiums. He has also been the featured speaker at formal hospital Grand Rounds presentations as a visiting lecturer in the Academic Dermatology Departments of several American medical schools.
